Gap of multi disk screw press

Gap between dynamic and static rings

Function: The dynamic and static rings are one of the core components of the multi disk screw press, and their gap size directly affects the dewatering effect of sludge and the operational stability of the equipment. Appropriate gaps can ensure that water is smoothly filtered out of the gaps during the squeezing process of sludge, achieving effective dewatering of sludge

Common range: Generally speaking, the gap between the dynamic and static rings is precisely adjusted and controlled according to design requirements during equipment manufacturing, usually within a small range, measured in millimeters. For example, the gap between the dynamic and static rings of some devices may be between 0.5-2 millimeters, but the specific values may vary depending on factors such as the design of different manufacturers, equipment models, and the nature of the sludge being treated

Influencing factors:

Sludge properties: If the sludge particles are fine and have high viscosity, a smaller gap between the dynamic and static rings may be required to better block the passage of sludge particles and improve dewatering efficiency. On the contrary, for sludge with coarser particles and lower viscosity, the gaps can be slightly larger

Processing requirements: When the moisture content requirement for sludge dewatering is high, a smaller gap between the dynamic and static rings is needed to increase the squeezing pressure and squeeze out as much water as possible from the sludge; If the requirement for moisture content is not particularly strict, the gap can be relatively larger

Gap between back pressure plates

Function: The back pressure plate is located at the outlet of the multi disk screw press, and its gap size has a significant impact on the final dewatering effect of the sludge and the moisture content of the sludge cake. By adjusting the clearance between the back pressure plates, the resistance and pressure experienced by the sludge during dewatering can be controlled, thereby regulating the dryness of the sludge cake

Common range: The adjustment range of the back pressure plate gap is relatively large, generally around 1.5-2 centimeters, which is more suitable. However, in some special cases, such as when the sludge concentration is very high or when the requirement for sludge moisture content is not high, the gap between the back pressure plates can be appropriately increased; If you want to obtain mud cakes with lower moisture content, you can adjust the gap smaller, but it is usually not recommended to be less than 4 millimeters to avoid overloading the equipment and accelerating the wear of vulnerable parts

Influencing factors:

Sludge concentration: When the sludge concentration is high, the flowability is relatively poor. To avoid blockage, the gap between the back pressure plates can be appropriately increased; For sludge with lower concentration, the gap can be appropriately reduced to improve the dewatering effect

Processing capacity: When the processing capacity is large, the residence time of sludge in the equipment is relatively short. In order to ensure the dewatering effect, it may be necessary to appropriately reduce the gap between the back pressure plates and increase the extrusion pressure; On the contrary, when the processing capacity is small, the gap can be appropriately increased
