Treatment of piggery wastewater with screw press filter

The content of nitrogen, phosphorus, COD, BOD and other substances in pig manure wastewater is very high. If not properly treated, it will cause serious pollution to surface water, groundwater and soil, and then affect human health.

Pig farm wastewater treatment process

The fecal sewage of pig farm should be separated from solid and liquid firstly. The separated solid can be piled up and fermented to be used as organic fertilizer. The separated water is still black and enters a regulating tank. After sedimentation, acidification and balanced regulation, it enters a biogas tank for treatment. The biogas tank, also known as anaerobic treatment, can reduce most of nitrogen, phosphorus, COD and other substances.

The role of screw press filter in pig farm wastewater treatment

Biogas will be generated during anaerobic process, which can be used for power generation, heat supply and other applications. The anaerobic water enters the screw press filter. After flocculation, concentration and dehydration, most of the suspended solids and other pollutants in the sewage can be flocculated into clusters. After the treatment of the screw press filter, most of the pollutants in the sewage are squeezed into mud cakes and discharged. The separated water can be discharged after being basically changed into clean water. In this way, the pollutant index in the water may be slightly higher than the secondary discharge standard, so that reeds or water hyacinths can be planted around the water discharge to purify it.

The screw press filter is made of 304 stainless steel, which has the advantages of wear resistance, non clogging, 24-hour continuous operation and low energy consumption. The most important thing is that it operates automatically without the need for personnel to watch. The operation cost in the later stage is low. The equipment occupies a small area, so it does not need to build a concentration tank again. It is cleaned with tap water to prevent pollution to the surrounding environment, and it is clean and tidy.

The dry manure after pig manure treatment is sent to the fertilizer plant to make fertilizer, and the sewage can be recycled to wash the pig house, or directly discharged after disinfection and nitrogen removal to meet the discharge standard.
